Press Release 9th January 2008
SwissQual, the independent Swiss network quality measurement company, has just recorded its strongest quarter for orders won since the company was formed in 2000. The last quarter of 2007 saw orders exceed the previous quarterly record by more than 50%. This strong performance has been achieved within six months of the company returning to independent ownership.
Part of this strong performance has been attributed to positive market acceptance of the SwissQual Diversity platform which now has more than 70 customers in 50 countries.
Says John May, SwissQual’s CEO: “The Diversity platform has been designed to address a number of previously unsatisfied market needs. For example, the platform has been physically tested from minus 40 degrees C to plus 80 degrees C, and also tested to withstand 50G shocks. This means that with its intelligent UPS to maintain reliable power, you can depend on the system to survive the rigours of drive-round vehicle life, and give good results no matter where you want to deploy it.”
“Perhaps even more important has been the continued development of our family of voice and video quality algorithms which give a comprehensive evaluation of quality including the effects of loudness loss, delay and echo. These have also allowed us to offer a reliable method of evaluating and benchmarking the quality of CDMA, GSM, UMTS and WCDMA networks. Many industry authorities report that other systems, using alternative algorithms simply look at the effects of one way speech distortion and noise on quality. This is too narrow a view to really tell the operators what they need to know about the customer experience.”
John May also believes that the success is also partly due to the company’s strong market reputation: “SwissQual has a strong market reputation for quality and reliability. This reputation has allowed us to swap out equipment from a number of competitors in several operators. Now, just six months after returning to private ownership, we are showing a stronger growth than at any other time in our corporate history. With several new product launches due early in the New Year, we expect to move even further ahead in 2008”
SwissQual invests heavily in research and development and expects to make some major new product announcements in the New Year with support for several new network technologies.
